"In the end, it's not the years in your life that count, it's the life in your years." - Abraham Lincoln

One of my assignments took me to a lovely home outside of Lenham. Quite a way from the village itself, there were loads of open fields and country lanes to walk in, and so I took to the fields, looking at the ‘small stuff’.

On 27 August 1950, Lenham, along with the village of Harvel,                                                                                                                 was one of the signal receiving points (between Calais and London) of the first-ever live television pictures from the                                                                                                                            continent. There is also an old pharmacy which is famous for the discovery of a Saxon soldier body and weapons within                                                                                                                       the pharmacy.

The clients garden was also a treat and very well maintained. That and the good weather gave me loads of opportunity to play with my camera.

Lenham is a market village in Kent, halfway between Maidstone and Ashford. The market dates back to 1088, when the village was an important crossroad settlement. Technically the fact that Lenham is allowed a market, makes it a town, but the community have always preferred to keep ‘village’ status.

Sunsets over the open fields were a treat, and I could literally walk out the front door to see these views! It really was a beautiful area to walk in, and during my breaks, I made the most of it!

No buildings and stuff in this post, just gorgeous scenery, flowers and shaded country lanes. Lenham….. I will be back and with a bit of luck, be treated to some snow!
