"In the end, it's not the years in your life that count, it's the life in your years." - Abraham Lincoln

Botley is an unmanned station, so it was a case of buying a ticket via the ticket dispensing machine, waiting for the right train, and hoping I was on the correct platform – there were only 2, so I stayed on the side of the direction I had to travel in – good guess.

After being delayed by 2 hours due a tree across the rails (heavy wind and rains in the morning), I got there with half an hour to spare, so played with camera – as I do. Not much to photograph at such a small station though. The weather had turned bitterly cold so I was very glad when the train did arrive, as the coaches are all heated. My 3 hour journey to Gloucester and the Cotswolds had begun!
