"In the end, it's not the years in your life that count, it's the life in your years." - Abraham Lincoln

I had a 2 week assignment back in Liverpool, but with the weather being cold and wet, I didn’t venture out too much. I had much to look forward to, once the assignment was done. I had managed to obtain a ticket to a football game at Anfield; aswell as Paul having planned a 10-day visit to see his brother and then spend some time with me.

Being mostly indoors gave me the opportunity to set up an itinerary of places I wanted to take him and hoped the weather would be kind on his first UK visit – but then again, this was the UK – no one ever really knows what the weather will do! In the meantime, my camera gathered a wee bit of dust!

There was however what I thought was a Flaming Silver Pieris Japonica Japanese Andromeda shrub which fascinated me. The new leaves are a bright reddish pink as they open and after a few days turn a yellowish green. It really made for a stunning effect. The Magenta and yellow primula vulgaris were just as pretty after the rain and gave me subjects to use for some close-up photography attempts.
