Vienna was the next stop for me, in the hopes that I could get to do “The Sound of Music” tour. Unfortunately, as it was an entire days outing, it was not to be.

When I hailed a taxi at the rank outside the station, an abrupt driver pointed away from the station and said ‘go there’ and ‘not far’. Another driver said ‘too close for car; 800m’ Ok well clearly I was going to have to walk despite lugging a clearly heavy

suitcase and 2 backpacks! I asked again were the

hotel was and the irritated driver merely pointed

and said ‘that way, not far’. Some help he was!

I looked on my phone map app, and found the

way on my own.

It was more like 1.5kms than 800m!

Not a great looking place from the outside, the

lobby was also pokey but the room was ok.

I certainly couldn’t see any hills or hear any music

from here though!

As I only had one full day in Vienna, I was going to do the hop-on-hop-off bus tour again. I unpacked what I needed then went for a walk about and to get something to eat. An early night was called for as I had to be at the bus terminal early the next day.
