"In the end, it's not the years in your life that count, it's the life in your years." - Abraham Lincoln

We left PE just before lunchtime, stopping for a break near the Storms River Bridge.

The drive was pleasant and we arrived in Plett in time for afternoon tea.

Cold tea.

Of the fermented hops kind!

Our first day in Plett was literally a do-nothing-day! We walked for miles on the beautiful beach, picnicked at a look-out point on Robberg, visited another friend we had not seen in ages, and yakked up a storm! There were many years of catching up to do!

Besides being treated like royalty, a reiki session set the mood for a few days of well needed relaxation!

The B&B we were staying at was amazing. We were warmly welcomed by our good friends, and made to feel totally at home!

The garden, designed by the lady-of-the-house, is beautiful and extremely relaxing.

Just what we needed – total chill time awaited!

After a quick breakfast on day-2, we took a drive to the Tenikwa Wildlife Sanctuary & Animal Rehab Centre and spent an hour wandering around there. Not quite a game park, but a close second for me! Then it was off to The Elephant Sanctuary, where my travel buddy did a walk on the wild side, while I caught a few zzz’s! Once she was done, we headed back to our accommodation and spent the evening relaxing in the company of good friends!

The lions, housed in a separate enclosure, put on quite a show for the visitors, which raised a few embarrassed chuckles!

Sadly our time was up and we said our farewells the next morning. I was heading for CT to visit family, and my travel companion was heading back to JHB and work. We returned to PE, dropped off the hired-car and headed for the airport, each on a separate flight. An absolutely wonderful week, spent in fabulous company! Exactly what I needed to kick start my holiday!
