"In the end, it's not the years in your life that count, it's the life in your years." - Abraham Lincoln

My SA holiday was over, and as hard as it was to say farewell to my children and grandchildren, it was time to head north. The weather had been as dreary as I felt, and my heart was heavy. Saying goodbye never got easier.

But I was heading to more family, and to what I suspected would be a huge surprise! I had arranged for my son-in-law to fetch me from the airport – on the premise that he was going to work – my daughter and grandson suspected nothing! I knew there would be much excitement when she did see me, but wow, what a welcome!! She spotted me trying to creep past their front window; shrieked and almost took the door off its hinges in her rush to get it open. She flung her arms around me and bawled like a baby! Eventually we were both in tears!

My grandson had been in his room and didn’t know what the commotion was all about. He came flying into the lounge, saw me and said “Geez Mom, you gave me a fright! It’s just Gamma!” Mr Harry-casual himself!!

Tears turned to smiles, and all was well.

What a surprise!! What a welcome!!! I was looking forward to my week with them, even though they were at work and school during the day, we generally only went out at night as the days were too hot.

The kids took me to the Aspire Wonderland Festival Fountain and Light Show, a fantasy light show with music, magnificent lighting displays and a spectacular musical water fountain moving to the sound of beautiful melodies.

From Aspire we headed over to the Villaggio Mall for dinner and then home.

A fabulous evening of family fun & togetherness!

The musical fountains were fascinating and kept everyone enthralled. It was humid out and being so near the water cooled the air somewhat, which was very pleasant.
