"In the end, it's not the years in your life that count, it's the life in your years." - Abraham Lincoln

During another assignment, I was situated in Brenchley, a village and civil parish in the Borough of Tunbridge Wells in Kent. The name is derived from Branca’s Leigh and is located 13km east of Tunbridge Wells.

The view across the village from my bedroom window was stunning. Brenchely has earned historical fame by being one of the villages that was closely involved in medieval iron making, although the site of the furnace lies within the parish of Horsmonden.

Taking advantage of the good weather and the fact that client could be left alone, I went walkabout whenever I could, with one specific walk taking me to a bench where I could just sit and look out over the wheat fields. That was my favourite.

Another walk in the opposite direction was along a pathway next to a farm. The sheep were always curious when I lay down in the grass to watch the clouds and generally came to see what I was doing. I was glad they kept their distance though. The one thing I did enjoy was being able to pick the fresh berries in the brambles as I was walking. Fruit always does taste so much better when it’s freshly picked.

The property I was working on was large, with gardens bordering the premises and some interesting garden ornaments.

I just love summer time. I’ve been trying for ages to get some decent bee close-ups and the plethora of bees in the country side gave me ample opportunity!
