"In the end, it's not the years in your life that count, it's the life in your years." - Abraham Lincoln

I met up with mates, watched footy (as I do), had an early Christmas with my eldest daughter and her family, had loads of fun playing “Guesstures”; and, before I knew it, it was time to head back to the UK, and work.

Its hard being so far away from loved ones, and I didn’t have time to get to Qatar on this trip, but at least but my life in the UK was slowly coming together. Paul had received his ancestral visa while I was home, and would be headed north in the new year, so there was some packing to do aswell.

Overall a busy, happy, sad and poignant trip, many tears shed but also much love shared; and a glimmer of light on the horizon – after just over 3 years, I will finally have a home, with Paul, in the UK and not continually live out of a suitcase!

Its lovely when you receive cards from your grandkids. Xmas was fairly quiet for us.
Happy New Year to you and yours – hope 2020 is going to be a successful year for all.
