"In the end, it's not the years in your life that count, it's the life in your years." - Abraham Lincoln

From Broadstairs I headed back to my base in Tonbridge for a few days before I was supposed to go onto one last job and then my holiday home to South Africa – I had been away for a year and was really looking forward to seeing loved ones and friends.

Unfortunately it didn’t happen that way as my back decided it had had enough and went into a total spasm from shoulders to waist. I landed up flat on my back and physically not being able to walk at all for 2 days, barely mobile for a further 2 weeks and not being able to work at all. Money lost due to no income, money paid out due to physiotherapist’s bills, my holiday wasn’t starting on a good footing – that job was to be my holiday money!!

While chilling in the garden one day I saw this bumble bee on the flowers so whiled away the time getting some close up photos.

There is often confusion about the differences between bumblebees and honeybees. Bumble bees are fat & furry, whereas honey bees are more slimline and not as furry. There are 25 different species of bumblebees in Europe and only one type of honeybee! Bumblebees also feed from all sorts of flowers as they have a long proboscis, but honeybees have a shorter proboscis so can only feed from opened flowers.

Playtime over, it was time to head home to collect on a year’s worth loads of love, hugs, cuddles and fun! First stop was Qatar, to see my second eldest daughter and her family. But that’s another story for another blog! Chat again from across the water!

Shame Sue! believe it or not, walking is the best exercise for backs and physio – simple exercises that you can do every morning or every night whichever is easy every day will strengthen your core when you are here again i can show you a few.
