I visited two of the churches that were within close proximity from the house and although one was locked (which is very unusual), the other was open, and I marveled at the magnificence of the building, inside and out.

A wonderful way to spend my afternoons, in the serene quiet and peace as is generally found inside such magnificent buildings as these.

You need to start a stained glass section alone.

For an interesting perspective on how the churches were built and what life was like at that time, read Ken Follet’s novel Pillars of the Earth. He brings that part of history to life and its a great read.
