My first holiday home after a year started with a week in Qatar with my 2nd eldest daughter and her family. My grandson didn’t know when I was arriving and I got huge hugs and cuddles when he saw me!

Qatar was at the end of their winter season but the heat was still quite something, and we generally only went out at night, but even then the humidity was high. We visited the new shopping mall in Doha. They really are extravagant with the huge indoor fountains, and beautiful balloon displays, never mind the vast array of clothing and jewellery shops!

Walking around in central Doha, where there were new fountains and water features, we stopped to watch some kids playing in the fountains. Fully clothed or down to undies, they were having the best fun! Even some of the parents had walked in with their little ones!
